Professional Summary

Welcome to my homepage!

I am Zhang Yipeng, a Ph.D. candidate in Mathematics at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

My research interests lie broadly in Topological Data Analysis (TDA), Topological Deep Learning (TDL), Geometric Deep Learning (GDL), and Mathematical AI—the mathematical construction and analysis of machine learning architectures.

I have developed a series of machine learning and deep learning models inspired by topological and computational-geometric ideas, such as Multi-Cover, and applied them to real-world datasets.

Recently, my interests have become broader: I am fascinated by how various mathematical tools—such as sheaf theory, discrete homotopy theory, and topos theory—might interact with modern deep learning.

I am passionate about building a mathematical foundation for artificial intelligence, exploring how ideas from mathematics can guide the next generation of interpretable and principled learning systems.
